- How do you feel your writing has changed over the course of the semester? (Give me detailed example{s} with evidence please)
- Why do you suppose reflecting on your writing is a required assignment? How does reflection facilitate learning? Why is it important?
- What do you understand about audience [and therefore tailoring your argument] that you didn’t before? How can you use that knowledge to further your career as a student and as a professional?
- If you could have changed an assignment, which assignment would it be, how would you change it, and why? How would you (and potentially your classmates) benefit from this change?
- And finally, what can I do as a teacher to improve the gaming theme, the lectures, the assignments/projects, the journal entries, and/or anything else? Don’t just say “nothing, it was all great” – take a moment and really think about this.
My writing has not changed drastically. I was able to improve because of the practice I had this year. It is important so that you remember what to improve next time and what to keep the same.
From all my years of writing, I have learned to treat my audience like a newborn baby that doesn’t know anything. Each and everything has to be explained to them and you can’t miss a step because it would hurt your grade and the papers comprehension. Always assume the readers know nothing about your topic and cover all your bases so there are no holes in your paper. If you write a paper thinking everyone knows just as much about your specific topic as you, you are wrong and many people won’t be able to fully understand the paper.
I would’ve changed some of the journals to current events or something interesting rather than reflecting on every writing assignment. I get that it is necessary, but that would’ve been more interesting.
The theme is good and fun. I think there was enough work in the course. It kept us busy and it all had a purpose in the course.
